Today's Obscure Holiday 3/1/13

Srry for getting this out so late ;P

First of all it is the start of a new month so I will tell you the month stuff

  • Irish American Month
  • Music in Our Schools Month
  • National Craft Month
  • National Frozen Food Month
  • National Irish American Heritage Month- designated by Congress in 1995.
  • National Nutrition Month
  • National Peanut Month
  • National Women's History Month
  • Red Cross Month
  • Social Workers Month

Okay, now, it is national Pig Day and Peanut Butter Lover's Day. This is THE holiday for every male in my family, together they go through like a jumbo size thing of PB a day! In celebration of pig day lots of zoos have online pig chats! There are also two holidays that happen to be today because it is the first Friday in March, National Salesperson Day and Employee Appreciation Day. Employee Appreciation Day is a fairly new holiday, created in 1995 but not as new as National Salesperson Day, created in 2005 (by a salesperson).

Oh, BTW I will be putting up Famous Birthdays instead of Flower and Recipe of the Day

Today's famous Birthdays are:

March 1, 1904- Glenn Miller, big bandleader
March 1, 1926, Pete Rozelle, baseball commissioner
March 1, 1935- Robert Conrad, actor
March 1, 1954- Ron Howard, actor, director, "Opie" on Tv series "Andy Griffith"
March 1, 1974- Mark-Paul Gosselaar, actor, "Zack" on Tv series "Saved by the Bell"
