Today's Obscure Holiday 11/19/13

It's Have a Bad Day Day!
Believe it or not, Have a Bad Day Day was created to encourage people to wish others to have a bad day. The intent is to have sales people stop saying to their customers "have a good day", and replace it with "have a bad day". Yeah, I don't understand it either...

The flower of the day is the Ipomea

Today's Obscure Holiday 7/12/13 I KNOW THIS IS SUPER LATE, SORRY!!!

Summery of The Snow Queen

This is a summery of Hans Christian Anderson's The Snow Queen that my brother wrote that I thought was pretty funny :)

Once upon a time, there was a Snow Queen who lived in a snow castle and sat on a broken lake all day contemplating useless things not worth writing about before she left to go out and make the whole world cold, leaving behind a boy who played with some ice all day to get new skates until a girl with a dumb name came and sang an irrelevant song and a tiny piece of glass that had been affecting his brain came out of his eye and they all went home and it was summer and they were grown up and they lived happily ever after.

THE END

A Story

This is a story that one my friends posted on her blog that I really like:
A professor at UCLA Medical School posed this problem to his class:

"Here is the family's history: the father has syphilis. The mother has TB and is pregnant. They already have four children. The first is blind, the second is dead, the third is deaf, and the fourth has TB. The parents are willing to have an abortion if you decide they should."

The students considered the problem and decided on abortion.

"Congratulations," he said, "you have just murdered Beethoven."
