Today has a lot of nice holidays, my favorite being Public Sleeping Day. A day to sleep in public i.e. school. The two other lovely holidays are Floral Design Day and National Tooth Fairy Day. Today is a great day to lose a tooth or create a floral design with either fresh or dried flowers.

Today's Obscure Holiday of the Day 2/27/13

It's Polar Bear Day and No Brainer Day. Despite common belief, Polar Bears are actually native to Russia, Greenland, Canada, Alaska, and Norway. No Brainer day is quite possibly my favorite obscure holiday of the year. By definition, a "No brainer" is something that is simple and/or easy. Therefore, today is the day for you to do all those "no brainer" tasks and activities. If a project requires thinking, study, or analysis of any kind, then its not the chore to do today.

Today's Obscure Holiday 2/26/13

There are a number of holidays today, Carnival Day, National Pistachio Day, and Tell a Fairy Tale Day. As usual I will give an interesting fact for all of them. Unfortunately I couldn't find any so I made some that I knew, take 'em or leave 'em.

• I hate carnivals and amusement parks 
• The best way to eat pistachios is in ice cream
• Fairy Tales are the best kind of stories

Today is International Dog Biscuit Day (who comes up with these things?) and Tennis Day.

Today's Obscure Holiday 2/22/13

Today we have a number of obscure (or not so obscure) holidays, the most prominent being George Washington's birthday. However, it is also Be Humble Day, Walk the Dog Day, and International World Thinking Day (Wait. would that be more prominent because it says international?...)

To make each of these unique I have an interesting fact for them:

• George Washington's most famous quote is "I cannot tell a lie... I chopped down the cherry tree!" 
• In keeping with the spirit of the day, the creator of Be Humble Day could not brag about his creation. As a result, he remains unknown. :P
• Walking the Dog" is a yo-yo trick. So, if you have a Yo-Yo, you can celebrate the day by "walking the dog" with your yo-yo. 
• Thinking Day celebrated all over the world by Girl Scouts, Girl Guides, and other girl groups

Today's Obscure Holiday 2/20/13 (Part 2)

Wow... This one is really obscure... should I even be posting this?
Hoodie-Hoo Day-  On this cold, winter day people of this Northern Hemisphere go out at noon, wave their hands over their heads and chant "Hoodie-Hoo". It is a day to chase away winter and bring in spring. After all, everyone is sick and tired of winter at this point and a little crazy being cooped up inside all winter and not seeing the sun.

Alternatively it is Love Your Pet Day!
Interesting fact: There is a wide array of e-cards for pet-owners in honor of this day, but not a single one for the pet the day is honoring!

Tuesday's funny saying of the week thing 2/19/13

Ok so I decided to put up a funny saying every Tuesday because it is the worst day of the week in my opinion (although Wednesday is a close 2nd). On Monday you're still in weekend mode, the shock hasn't quite hit you, Wednesday can sometimes be okay if you have a really big imagination and can trick yourself into thinking it's Thursday, and Thursday you can remind yourself it's almost Friday, and well Friday is Friday. Anyways here's something to brighten up your Tuesday!
